Access Statement for Hesleyside Huts – Holly Hut
This Accessibility Statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services which we offer to our guests and visitors. Introduction We strive to ensure that all visitors can enjoy the accommodation, amenities and surroundings. Our aim is to assist you in any way possible and if you require assistance whilst planning your stay, or while you are actually visiting us we will be pleased to help you.
Pre-Arrival & Contact
Hesleyside Huts provide self-catering shepherd’s huts on wheels. A detailed list of all facilities provided is given on our web-site and eMailed on confirmation of booking. Address and directions are on our web-site and eMailed on confirmation of booking. We can post a copy of this access statement or all our welcoming instructions if required. We offer telephone, email and postal contact with our customers.
Arrival and Car Parking Facilities at Holly Hut
A wooden double gate accesses the main gravel track to all our huts. You will need to open and close this gate on arrival. Gravel track suitable for all vehicles down the avenue of trees – speed restricted to 10mph. Access to Holly is half-way down the track (40 meters) on the left. Off-track gravel parking provided. Wooden gate to access path through woods to Holly Hut. No cars beyond this point. The path is both steep and un-even in places. We will provide both a wheel-barrow and torch on your arrival.
Holly Hut – Access and Entrance
Access up 4 wooden steps to covered deck area. Steps and decking to be lit for safe arrival. All surfaces are wooden. Outside deck is open and does not have balustrade 3 meter high double doors (1.2m wide) to access main hut.
Holly Hut - Internal
Kitchen area comprising gas oven and hobs, gas fridge and Belfast sink. Copper bath (740mm high) in the main living area. Toilet and sink behind sliding door to the rear. Access to mezzanine level via a steep ladder (2.2m) with hand-rail. This can be slid to the side when not in use. Table and folding chairs will need to be moved into position before use.
There are individual campfires for each hut. Please only use wood provided and keep all fire in the confines of the designated fire pit. A wooden shed houses the gas bottles – please do not access. Bins are located by this shed (recycling facilities available in the clearly labelled bins) Other disposal points around the remainder of the site - the wheelie bins are 1.4 metres in height.
Although we allow access to the wider area please note that proper foot-wear must be worn. The woods and river are a natural environment and no responsibility can be taken for people who wish to explore.
