Hesleyside Huts would like to invite all their guests to enjoy a relaxing experience with us and to this end we ask guests to respect the site, the surrounding countryside and each other whilst staying with us.

1. Your booking at Hesleyside Huts includes use of your nominated accommodation along with use of the public areas, woodland walks and parking areas.
2. Guests are advised that Hesleyside Huts is situated in the Northumberland National Park and a SSSI area. All restrictions including access onto the fell, lighting of fires must always be carefully observed in relation to the Hesleyside Huts site and the surrounding Hesleyside Estate. Please always observe the Countryside Code and consider others enjoying the countryside, close gates or leaving them as you found them. Please leave no trace of your visit and take your litter home.
3. Hesleyside Huts accepts no responsibility for the failure of services due to weather, nor for any difficulties experienced when accessing or leaving the site. During the Winter months snow and ice are not uncommon; please walk and drive carefully and responsibly at these times.
4. There is a strict curfew on site at Hesleyside Huts that applies from 10.00pm – 7.30am. During that time no music or gatherings can take place anywhere on site.
5. Fireworks, Chinese Lanterns and disposable BBQ’s are not permitted anywhere on site at Hesleyside Huts or in the adjoining woodland, farmland or moors on the Hesleyside Estate.
6. Due to the remote location of Hesleyside Huts, children must always be supervised by a responsible adult. Whilst we encourage guests to enjoy the surroundings of Hesleyside Huts, please note that care must be taken as areas may be slippery, particularly when wet. Children must not at any time climb on walkways, balustrades or trees. You must inform Hesleyside Huts if children form part of your booking, either via the booking process itself or via email after the booking has been made. There is an additional charge of £10 per child’s bed per night in Bramble, Rowan and Skylark. 

7. Hesleyside huts endeavors to provide all the facilities and services promoted on our website but are not liable to pay any refund should any of these fail. Although severe and extreme conditions are rare, and we will endeavor to keep everything running to the best of our ability.

BOOKING, ARRIVAL & Departure
1. All bookings are considered confirmed only after payment has been received in full. Hesleyside Huts reserves the right to cancel your booking if payment conditions are not upheld. Receipt of your booking confirms your acceptance of all Terms and Conditions.
By making a booking, you agree that: –
a) you have read these Terms & Conditions and agree to be bound by them;
b) you consent to our use of your information in accordance with our Privacy Policy;
and
c) you are over 18 years of age and where there may be age restrictions in place, you declare that you and all members of your party are of the appropriate age.

2.  Please check your booking confirmation carefully and report any incorrect or incomplete information to us immediately. 
3. Your accommodation will be ready on the day of arrival by 4pm. Departure time is by 10am on your day of departure.
4. For a booking of two or more huts please telephone Hesleyside Huts directly.
5. No group bookings are allowed without prior agreement with Hesleyside Huts.
6. On departure all huts are to be left clean and tidy and cutlery/plates etc. are put back as you found them. Keys must be left in your Hut or key safe. All rubbish and recycling must be disposed of responsibly in the bins on site. Due to the Pandemic/infection control and to protect staff please strip your beds of linen and leave in the linen laundry bags. If the accommodation is left in an untidy state Hesleyside Huts reserve the right to charge extra for a full valet.

CANCELLATION
1. CANCELLATION BY YOU
Once a booking is confirmed you are responsible for the total cost of the holiday as shown on the invoice issued at the time of booking. We therefore recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance.
If we are notified of a cancellation, at any time up to 3 months prior to your confirmed stay, we will refund the full invoiced cost of your booking, minus a £50 handling fee.
If we are notified of a cancellation, between 3 months prior to and 6 weeks prior to your stay, we will refund 50% of the invoiced cost of your booking minus a £50 handling fee if the accommodation is or is not re-let.
For cancellations after the 6 weeks prior to your stay date, you will be responsible for the full cost of your original booking and will forfeit any refund if the hut is or is not re-let.

2. CANCELLATION BY US – Extreme Conditions: Hesleyside Huts reserves the right to cancel a holiday or transfer you to alternative accommodation on site or nearby at short notice if for unforeseeable circumstances we are unable to provide safe accommodation in a hut due to extreme weather conditions, ill health, fire, Government Restrictions, administration/duplication or any other extenuating circumstance. Under such unlikely circumstances you will be offered a credit against a future stay or a refund.

CONDUCT
1. The named person(s) booking the accommodation is responsible for the behaviour and actions of their guests while at Hesleyside Huts.
2. Guests may be asked to leave the premises if their behaviour is threatening, aggressive, anti-social, or damaging in any way to the other residents or to the staff of the premises. In this circumstance your full cooperation is expected.

3. Pease keep any noise to a minimum after 10pm. Please respect the natural environment and your neighbors.

VEHICLES
1. Visitors staying at Hesleyside Huts are required to park in the designated parking space which is set aside for each hut. Only one vehicle is permitted per hut. Prior permission must be sort for campervans, vans or bigger vehicles.
2. There is a strict 5 mph speed limit whilst on site. Please always observe this.
3. When accessing the site, please ensure that all gates are closed behind you.

OCCUPANCY
1. The number of people staying in any accommodation must at no time exceed the number stated and agreed in the booking. The accommodation must not be sub-let. Please note that for safety reasons children under the age of 5 years are not permitted to stay in either Rowan or Skylark.
2. The owners of Hesleyside Huts reserve the right to enter the accommodation at any reasonable time, and with reasonable prior notice if any urgent need were to arise (e.g. for health and safety reasons or urgent repair).

CARE FOR THE ACCOMMODATION
1. Your accommodation will be prepared for your arrival. Hesleyside Huts expect everything to be left as you found it.
2. In the case of any accidents on the premises these must be reported immediately to a member of Hesleyside Huts staff.
3. The named person(s) booking the accommodation will be held responsible for paying for any loss or damage to any part of the Hesleyside Huts premises, or to any fixtures, fittings and equipment which are caused by any member of the party.
4. The names person(s) booking the accommodation are responsible for and agree to reimburse Hesleyside Huts all costs incurred by the owner and/or us as a result of any breakage or damage to the property which is caused by you or any members of your party or any persons invited into the property by you.
We reserve the right to take any extra payment from your card to cover any such costs.
5. If an exceptional level of cleaning is required after use of any of these facilities the cost will be charged to the named person.
6. We ask that you do not bring muddy boots into the accommodation. Take off your shoes if you can.
7. All bed linen and towels are provided. These items must always remain inside your accommodation. Bedding including rugs must not be taken outside.
8. It is the responsibility of all guests to return any items removed from any accommodation unit to its original place by the time of departure (this includes cutlery, crockery, utensils etc.).
9. Guests must return all furniture within the accommodation to its original position by the time of departure.
10. Please ensure that all waste is taken to the designated area for disposal and please use the recycling facilities. Bin liners will be provided but please ask if more are required.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS
1. Hesleyside Huts will not be held responsible for damage or loss to any personal property brought onto the premises or in guest vehicles.
2. Hesleyside Huts has a 7 day lost and found policy which means we can only keep an item found for that amount of time.
3. It is the guests’ responsibility to check for all personal belongings before departure from Hesleyside Huts.
4. Any items found after guests have departed can to be sent to the guest at their expense (minimum of £20 postal charge). Any items sent by post or courier must be paid for in advance and it is the responsibility of the guest to select a suitable carrier and appropriate insurance.

FIRES & SMOKING
1. Hesleyside Huts take a firm view on managing fires and smoking and ask that guests are particularly vigilant in this area. The site contains a lot of trees, hand crafted wooden accommodation and we are alongside woodland and open moorland covered in peat and heather. Even the smallest of informal fires can quickly get out of hand.
2. There will be no fires or barbecues other than in the designated areas and with the equipment provided, failure to observe these requirements may result in your party being asked to vacate the site immediately. These include portable BBQs.
3. Only logs supplied by Hesleyside Huts may be used in the stoves and fire pits.
4. Stoves provided in the accommodation are suitable for burning wood fuel only. Coal and other processed fuel types may result in irreparable damage to the stove and accommodation unit.
5. All guests that light fires are responsible for managing them safely and ensuring that they are extinguished after use.
6. No items of clothing must be placed on or over the woodburners because of risk of fire.
7. We do not permit the use of candles, tealights or disposable BBQ’s anywhere on the Hesleyside Huts site.
8. Smoking is not permitted anywhere within Hesleyside huts buildings or walkways and is only permitted in the designated fire pit areas. Please dispose of all cigarette buts responsible and do not litter the fire pit.
9. For fire regulations we are required to keep a log of all guests who will be residing at Hesleyside Huts.
10. No fires are permitted at all other than in the wood burners in the huts or the designated fire pits.
11. Guests can enjoy the use of a fire pit, but only under the supervision of an adult. Children must not be left unattended by a fire pit at any time.

12. In the event of an emergency, please use the fire extinguisher and first aid kit supplied, but also alert a member of staff immediately. The use of fire pits after 10:00pm is only permitted with the permission of the management.

DOGS & PETS
1. No dogs or pets are permitted onsite or in our huts. Raven is an exception to this rule and is our sole dog friendly hut. 

2. One well behaved dog is permitted to stay at Raven. A fee of £10 per night must be paid in advance to cover additional cleaning costs. We ask that you respect all property inside Raven. Please do not allow your dog into the bedroom, or on any
of the soft furnishings provided and never leave your dog unattended.
a. We ask that you do not let your dog off the lead unless in the gated
woodland area – we are a working farm and keep sheep and cows in the
surrounding fields. Never leave your dog unattended in the gated
woodland area and please minimise any barking. Please do conscious of
your neighbours.
b. Make sure you clean up after your dog whether that be in the gated
woodland area or on walks around the Estate.  
c. Guests will be required to pay for any damage to items or additional
cleaning because of badly behaved or unwell dogs.
d. It is guests’ responsibility to ensure their dog is free of ticks and other
pathogens before entering Raven. The surrounding woods are a natural
environment with birds, insects and fungus and so please ensure that your
dog is always under control.

DUE CARE AND ATTENTION
1. Whilst we encourage guests to enjoy the public areas and woodlands, please note that care must be taken; walkways and stairs maybe slippery particularly when wet, footpaths and tracks maybe uneven with tree roots and rocks.
2. Children at Hesleyside Huts must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult. Climbing on the balustrades and walkways of the treehouse and huts is strictly forbidden and Parents must take special care of their children at heights.
3. Please note that Holly, Raven, Heather and Bracken Hut are not suitable for children of any age and Rowan Hut and Skylark are not suitable for infants or children under the age of 5 years.
4. Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit our liability for fraud or for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence (or the negligence of our employees or agents) or where applicable law does not permit us to restrict or exclude particular obligations or liabilities.
5. Subject to the above paragraph we do not accept any liability for damage to any member of your party or any of your possessions while on our premises.
6. You are liable for all fire, damage or alteration to the huts whatsoever and howsoever caused by any member of your party.

COMPLAINTS
In the event that you have any complaint about your stay, please notify the Owner as soon as possible. If you don’t follow this procedure, there will be less opportunity for Hesleyside Huts to investigate and resolve your complaint and so make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

SPECIAL REQUESTS
If you have any special requests (for example dietary requirements, cots or bed location), please let us know at the time of booking. We will pass on all such requests to the Owner, but unfortunately, we can’t guarantee that they will be met and we will have no liability to you if they are not.

FORCE MAJEURE
Hesleyside Huts will not be responsible for the failure to provide facilities contracted in the event of it being prevented from doing so as a result of “Force Majeure” or any other event or circumstance beyond its control. This includes industrial disputes, strikes, war, invasion, riot, civil disobedience or disturbance, acts of terrorism, orders or regulations issued by central government, floods, fire, epidemics, pandemics, quarantine measures or travel restrictions. Hesleyside Huts will not be responsible for any loss or damage or costs or refund as a result.

DEPOSITS
We do not operate a deposit system for Heather, Bracken, Bramble, Holly and Rowan. We do operate a deposit system for Skylark and Raven.
For Skylark and Raven: Once a deposit of 50% has been paid, the full balance payment will be due 10 weeks in advance of your check in. A reminder to pay your balance will be sent to you one week prior to this 10-week date, where applicable, by email. It is your responsibility to advise us if we should use a different card and to contact us by telephone (01434 220 068) to arrange for alternative payment method. If you do not make any payment due to Hesleyside Huts by the due date for payment and at the latest within 5 days of this date, then with regret, we will cancel your booking and terminate their contract with you.
