As featured on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces on Channel 4, Heather is an idyllic place to create the most magical memories. Set in an oak copse just a minutes’ walk from the main house and with beautiful views over glorious parkland, Heather’s beautifully rustic Shepherd’s Hut exterior is traditionally handcrafted from reclaimed oak and insulated with cosy sheep’s wool.

Heather’s interior is as luxurious as you could wish for, with a wood-burning stove and oven, en- suite shower, fluffy towels, flushing loo plus an impossibly comfortable king-size bed. This is glamping with a capital ‘G’. The covered veranda has rocking chairs and a huge wood-fired outdoor bath?

Step outside breathe in the fresh air and marvel as the charm continues, with a private tub fit for two allowing you uninterrupted views over the resplendent parkland. As night falls, dine alfresco on your deck, warming your fingers and toes next to your firepit, or stoke up the fire and toast marshmallows that are waiting for you in the fully-stocked kitchen. As the embers die down, fill your tub and watch as the infamous Northumberland Dark Sky Reserve explodes into life with thousands of stars.

Fall into bed more relaxed than you have been in months, knowing you can rise at your leisure, pour yourself a cup of great coffee and sit amongst your thoughts as nature wakes up. This is a stay you will likely remember for a lifetime.

"Stayed at Heather and the experience was amazing, loved the wooden stove it warms up the hut really quick.

It’s very unique and you feel independent and out there in the wild. I wish the checkout wasn’t so early at 10am. 12pm would have been great so it doesn’t feel like rushed in the morning and you get to sleep with less stress. 2 x sacks of wood lasted us the two nights and even managed to do a lil bbq with it."

Just amazing. Nothing else needs to be said really, but I will anyway. We stayed in Rowan last weekend. The hut was immaculate and beautifully presented for our arrival. The hut itself is even better than it looks in the pictures online! It is clean and cosy, the windows allow plenty of light in during the day and are equipped with shutters which can be closed as necessary.

You have everything you need inside to survive. The bathroom has a modern feel without losing the charm of the hut. The bed was very comfortable. The view from the verandah is beautiful and the amount of wildlife around is amazing. It really feels you’re in the wild without sacrificing the comforts of home. Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better base at which to spend our long weekend. Will be back!!!

Magical treehouse, private setting so not overlooked. Perfect for couples as romantic retreat but also fabulous with children as like a fairytale house.
