Remember, Remember the 5th of November! Bonfire Night in Northumberland

As November arrives and the nights grow longer, Northumberland takes on a special kind of glow. Across the county, fields and villages light up with the sparkle of fireworks and the warmth of community bonfires — and there’s no better place to enjoy it all than from the peaceful comfort of a shepherd’s hut near Bellingham.

Here at Hesleyside Huts, located in the heart of the Northumberland National Park, you’re perfectly placed to enjoy the warmth and wonder of this special tradition. Whether you’re watching fireworks in a bustling market town or joining a small village celebration, there’s something truly memorable about Bonfire Night in our corner of the countryside.

1. Bellingham Bonfire & Fireworks – Your Local Celebration

The Bellingham Bonfire & Fireworks Night is a highlight of the local calendar — and it’s all made possible thanks to community spirit. Every year, volunteers and local businesses work together to raise funds, ensuring the event continues to welcome everyone.

The 2025 display takes place on Sunday, 2nd November, near the Riverdale Hall Hotel, beginning around 6pm. The evening features a traditional bonfire and a fantastic fireworks display, set against the backdrop of the North Tyne.

This is a true village event — friendly, relaxed, and full of local charm. Expect a warm welcome and a genuine sense of togetherness. If you’re staying at Hesleyside Huts, you’ll be part of the celebration in minutes if driving or a short walk into the village.

Keep an eye on the Bellingham Bonfire Night Facebook page for updates and timings closer to the event.

Date: Saturday, 8th November 2025
